ANNOUNCEMENT OF DOCTORAL (PHD) POSITIONS AND FULL SCHOLARSHIP FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS
CALL FOR APPLICATION
Kaposvár University offers PhD positions and full scholarship
in Animal Science Doctoral School
The call is open to foreign candidates from the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA) (i.e. the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland).
Relying on its classical animal science research fields, which have gained international recognition, and embracing the new challenges and broader approach of research, the Doctoral School of Animal Science conducts task-oriented and multidisciplinary research work in the following complex areas:
• Research related to food quality and safety, covering the entire vertical chain of animal food production, implementing the “from field to consumer” approach.
• Studying the impact of animal food production on the environment, development of methods for producing animal products in an environmentally friendly way.
• Research contributing to the improvement of the quality of life, studies related to the breeding and management of companion, hobby and sport animals.
• The application of cutting-edge technologies in animal science: non-invasive digital imaging for animal science related fields of research, diagnostics and molecular biology.
The PhD program will start in September 2018, covered by a four-year scholarship (net income of 140.000 HUF/month, for 12 months/year in the first two years, while 180.000 HUF/month in the second two years).
Requirements for the application:
a) academic degree (master level or university diploma) within 5 years of graduation in the chosen scientific field with at least „good” final evaluation;
b) certificate of English language skills;
c) a research plan prepared in agreement with the would-be supervisor;
d) a well outlined and up-to-date knowledge of literature in the chosen research field;
e) some practice in the experimental and methodological questions;
f) a written recommendation from a well-known scientific expert.
The application form should be submitted to the head of the doctoral school, with the following documents attached:
a) scientific CV;
b) a document proving the level of university education, or a diploma obtained in the master level education (or an official copy of these);
c) certificate of English language skills;
d) the dispatch note (check) on the payment of the application fee;
e) full list of publications, documents confirming scientific activity;
f) a written recommendation from a well-known scientific expert;
g) all further documents pertinent to obtaining a higher application score.
The deadline for application is 10 June 2018.
Possible applicants are informed on the exact date of the oral admission procedure (the expected date is the first week of July) via the university website and on request by e-mail.
