The Department of Wildlife Biology and Ethology is one of the newly formed institutions at the Faculty. Our staff has necessary practical skills and theoretical knowledge to study various aspects of wildlife management. Game management knowledge and skills are taught in the form of higher education vocational training and a Game Breeding agricultural engineer program for master's degree will be launched in the near future. Our most important study objects are red deer and wild boar as follows from the region's characteristics.
Bőszénfa Deer Farm offers education and research opportunities at European standards, where the biological and behavioural characteristics of wild species, problems of enclosure management as well as game management techniques can be widely studied. Forest engineers, ecologists, game managers, ethologists, parasitologist in our staff work on integrating the knowledge necessary for varied and sustainable utilisation of our natural environment.
