The staff of the Department of Physiology and Animal Hygiene are performing their tasks along education-research-service. The everyday practical experience provides our trainers with the up-to-date knowledge of the transferable knowledge.
In the field of animal breeding, our main educational task is the transfer of knowledge of biological causes and results. The development of a biological approach of keeping and breeding of domestic animals is promoted by teaching the basic anatomy, physiology, microbiology, reproduction biology, veterinary science and synthesizing all these: animal health and disease prevention courses.
The latest objective of our department is to educate biotechnical methods for animal husbandry. Thus, under a cooperation-contract of the University of Kaposvár and the NÉBIH, our task is the so-called Inseminator training organized by the Faculty, and recently we are involved in the Cattle Embryo Transplanting training.
From 2017, we started an optional course of Alternative Veterinary Medicine from the Alternative Section of the Hungarian Veterinary Chamber. With this we intend to create an opportunity for acquiring animal and environmental friendy and food safety methods.
From 2016 our research is carried out as a bovine embryo transplantation station in the framework of the officially accredited Kaposvár University Embryo Center. Thus, the dissertation topics of the Department are also related to the field of embryology. The staff of the Department is also involved in several tasks of climate research guarded by KE-AKK.
