In accordance with the ‘opening to the east’ policy, the management board of Kaposvár University signed an agreement with Lankaran State University on Wednesday. Joint educational and scientific research, as well as exchange of students and teaching staff are the main focus of the cooperation, primarily in the field of agriculture.
Kaposvár University broadened the areas of cooperation with Lankaran State University of Azerbaijan. The delegation visited the campus on Wednesday, where, following a reception of university leaders, the signing ceremony of the co-operation agreement was held.
Based on the matches in the curricula of the two universities, the fields of cooperation will include animal husbandry, crop production and environmental protection. In addition, the guests from Azerbaijan are particularly interested in the Animal Nutrition and Feed Safety Engineering MSc degree programme of the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
Prof. Dr. Ferenc Szávai, the Rector of Kaposvár University explained that the two institutions would carry out joint research, education programs and trainings in the future, as well as exchange of students and lecturers. Prof. Dr. Natig Ibrahimov, the Rector of the State University of Lankaran, spoke of his confidence that the relationship between the two universities could be fruitful over the long term.
The hosts also created an opportunity for the visitors to meet the three Azeri students who are currently studying at Campus. The leaders of the Lankaran State University have indicated that they would like to participate in the Animal Husbandry Days and Livestock Breeding Fair in Kaposvár and at the same time invited the experts of Kaposvár University to a scientific conference in Economics.
