From the record number of sixty entries, twenty-five films were selected by the jury to compete at the 9th Bujtor István Film Festival, which was held in Balatonszemes, a town by Lake Balaton in Hungary. Martin Helstáb participated with his latest film "You Must Die", which was awarded the special prize of the jury. The film depicts an abstract world in which scavenger creatures are struggling for survival.
The jury appreciated the powerful, unique universe created by the artist, as well as the serious message of film. The short movie is currently in the programme of other international festivals, so it is not yet available online.
The premiere screening was in spring at the 2nd Film Festival in Cegléd, where it won the first prize.
Last year at the same festival Martin Helstáb picked up a prize for his previous film called "Catarrh", which was a world-wide success.
The audience of the upcoming 2nd “Hét Domb” International Film Festival will have the chance to see one of Helstáb’s other works, called "Enjoy your meal, darling!"
