Institute of Physiology, Biochemistry and Animal Health
Graduate and postgraduate studies cover a broad range of courses: cell biology, histology, animal physiology, biochemistry, molecular genetics, microbiology and reproduction physiology, and also several veterinarian disciplines: pathophysiology, internal medicine, infectious diseases and animal hygiene. Research activity of the institute covers two main fields, both about health, prevention and food safety: animal and human health aspects and food safety consequences of mycotoxins introduced into the food chain; and digestive physiology related to animal health, prevention and food safety. The laboratory provides the facilities for our research, training and service in the fields of mycotoxin analytics (LC-MS, LC/MS-IT-TOF), microbiology, molecular genetics (sequence analyser, qPCR) and in vitro cyto- and genotoxicity testing. The institute carries out its educational, research and service activities according to an integrated quality control system (MSZ EN ISO 9001:2008 and MSZ EN ISO 14001:2005), while the laboratory works according to the MSZ EN ISO 17025 standard, and has GLPMS (TüV 751420102/2012) certification.
