A university's performance in economic and scientific fields has never been more important than it is in the internationalized, competitive educational climate of today. Graduates need practical skills and experience, not just theoretical knowledge, to be successful in their future professions. Faculties and universities are evaluated on how well they provide this sort of education, how well their Scientific Student Associations perform, how well their seminars and conferences are conducted, and how well their publications are received.
The Faculty of Economic Science of Kaposvár University – as a young and dynamically developing institute – has already established a distinctive scientific image in the field. Besides a solid foundation in economic and social sciences, students in the faculty get a high level of research and analysis experience in fields like the economic and market aspects of the food economy. This combination produces knowledgeable and experienced graduates particularly attractive to both national and international higher education institutions.
The faculty can be justly proud of its editorship of two new journals – Food, Nutrition and Marketing, and Regional and Business Studies. The faculty also lends its full support to the Scientific Students’ Association, which consistently performs superlatively. At the Kaposvár University’s Economic Seminar, undergraduates get a chance to work alongside PhD students from different universities and share their experiences while taking on some of the field's most complex and pressing issues.
